The “Merenda” has ancient origins and a profound meaning. The word derives from the Latin “merenda” gerundive neuter plural of “merere” (to deserve) and literally means “things to deserve”. A ritual that in the past represented a deserved break from the hard work in the fields.
In the most recent Italian tradition, this small meal has always been a moment of pause or sharing with friends. That’s why we decided to recreate this relaxing atmosphere on our farm, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, among vineyards and olive groves.
We called it “Merenda Toscana”, to underline its essence made of genuine flavors in a familiar and quiet environment. An experience where you can taste typical Tuscan products paired with our wines, spend a few hours with us and visit our cellar.
The “Merenda” becomes an opportunity to disconnect from the daily routine, recharge your batteries and indulge in a moment of pure pleasure.
